چکیده

We propose an open signal processing system design and implementation environment, BEEHIVE, that allows application developers to rapidly compose and debug functional speci cations in a networked, distributed computing environment, and then later migrate the application (transparently) onto an embedded, distributed, computing hardware/software platform, with the capability to recongure (adaptively) the resources assigned to the application to meet the dynamic real-time requirements of the implementation. Recent developments in the area of virtual machines; broker-based, distributed, transportable computing; object-oriented programming methodologies, Java and its real-time extensions; recon gurable and programmable hardware; approximate algorithms; adaptive-load and resource-management algorithms, are harnessed in this operating environment .

Distributed Incremental Least Mean-Square for Parameter Estimation using Heterogeneous Adaptive Networks in Unreliable Measurements

Adaptive networks include a set of nodes with adaptation and learning abilities for modeling various types of self-organized and complex activities encountered in the real world. This paper presents the effect of heterogeneously distributed incremental LMS algorithm with ideal links on the quality of unknown parameter estimation. In heterogeneous adaptive networks, a fraction of the nodes, defi...

Adaptive Thresholding in Marine RADARs

In order to detect targets upon sea surface or near it, marine radars should be capable of distinguishing signals of target reflections from the sea clutter. Our proposed method in this paper relates to detection of dissimilar marine targets in an inhomogeneous environment with clutter and non-stationary noises, and is based on adaptive thresholding determination methods. The variance and t...

Distributed Parallel Processing Techniques for Adaptive Sonar Beamforming

Quiet submarine threats and high clutter in the littoral environment increase computation and communication demands on beamforming arrays, particularly for applications that require in-array autonomous operation. By coupling each transducer node in a distributed array with a microprocessor, and networking them together, embedded parallel processing for adaptive beamformers can glean advantages ...

Real-time damage detection of bridges using adaptive time-frequency analysis and ANN

Although traditional signal-based structural health monitoring algorithms have been successfully employed for small structures, their application for large and complex bridges has been challenging due to non-stationary signal characteristics with a high level of noise. In this paper, a promising damage detection algorithm is proposed by incorporation of adaptive signal processing and Artificial...

Estimation of harmonic interference parameters of surface-NMR signal using an adaptive method and residual signal power

Surface nuclear magnetic resonance (surface-NMR) method is a well-known tool for determining the water-bearing layers and subsurface resistivity structure. Harmonic interference is an inevitable interference in surface-NMR measurements. Accurate estimation of harmonic interference parameters (i.e., fundamental frequency, phase and amplitude) leads to better retrieval of power-line harmonics and...
